Megan McGee-Pelkey, marketing coordinator at UFirst FCU and a former member of the Association’s Young Professionals Commission, recently earned the Credit Union Development Educator designation. McGee-Pelkey was among 46 credit union professionals nationwide to earn the prestigious designation after a weeklong training session in Madison, Wisconsin.
“DE training is like no other conference or event that I’ve attended in my almost 15 years with the credit union movement,” said McGee-Pelkey. “It has the ability to challenge you, completely exhaust you, motivate you and ultimately change you. The people I met there, the experiences I had and the knowledge they gave me goes beyond measure. I am so grateful to my credit union for this opportunity.”
The DE training provides critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues while incorporating challenges credit unions face today.
