Longtime credit union volunteer leader Thomas Diana passed away this week. Diana served on the Municipal CU board of directors, and he held the positions of board chair, board member and board member emeritus.
Diana, who dedicated nearly four decades to the New York City-based credit union, was inducted in the New York Credit Union Hall of Fame in 2017.
“The New York credit union community is deeply saddened to learn of Tom’s recent passing,” said New York Credit Union Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “Tom has left an indelible mark on the credit union movement, and his contributions will not be forgotten. The Association sends our condolences to Tom’s family, friends and his colleagues at Municipal CU.”
Municipal CU released the following statement:
“Municipal Credit Union is saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Thomas Diana. Tom dedicated four decades of his life to serving MCU as a former board chair, board member and board member emeritus, and his dedication to the Credit Union movement culminated in his induction into the New York Credit Union Hall of Fame in June. His legacy at MCU is surpassed by his legacy as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and as a dedicated civil servant and leader of the community. Our deepest condolences are with the Diana family during this tragic time.”
