#Convention17 kicks off at the Sagamore

Credit union leaders, professionals and volunteers from throughout the state are gathering in Bolton Landing on Lake George today for the New York Credit Union Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting & Convention. Over the course of four days, attendees will celebrate this year’s Convention theme, “A History Worth Repeating.”

With attendance approaching the 800 mark, this year’s Convention will include world-renowned featured speakers, insightful Learning Labs, meaningful networking, important fundraising events and numerous opportunities to relax and enjoy the resort on Lake George.

Convention kicks off today with the first day of the CUNA Mutual Group Golf Tournament to benefit the New York Credit Union Foundation. This evening includes several signature Convention events, including the EXPO/Welcome Reception sponsored by Alloya Corporate FCU, the Wine Pull to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Young Professionals Commission Cheers and Beers networking event.

Tomorrow, the EXPO doors will open at 7:30 a.m., and the general session will follow at 10:15 a.m. Featured speakers include Jim Nussell, president/CEO of CUNA, and former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.

Convention will continue Saturday with presentations from Tom Slefinger of Balance Sheet Solutions, acclaimed speaker Kevin Brown and record-breaking astronaut Captain Scott Kelly.

The event will conclude Sunday with the 2017 Annual Meeting.
